Tennis with purpose
Since its founding in 1959, the Oak Bluffs Tennis Club has been more than a place to play tennis. It has been a gathering space for generations of families, friends, and visitors who share a love of sport, community, and the unique cultural legacy of Oak Bluffs and the island of Martha's Vineyard. Today, as the OBTC is revived after thirty years, our purpose extends far beyond the court. We are committed to honoring the history that shaped this club while creating opportunities that strengthen the social and cultural fabric of the island and beyond.
Our mission includes expanding access to tennis for all ages, fostering meaningful community connections, and celebrating the heritage that makes Oak Bluffs special. As we grow, we are also developing a philanthropic arm dedicated to service, education and community support. While our initiatives are currently being developed, our long-term vision encompasses programs that uplift youth, foster intergenerational engagement, promote wellness, and contribute to the enrichment of island life and beyond. These efforts will be designed to create lasting impact while respecting the traditions that define Oak Bluffs.
We invite donors, foundations, and corporate partners to join us in building something that is both joyful and meaningful. Your support will help us develop accessible programming, cultural events, youth outreach, scholarships, community partnerships, and social gatherings that bring people together and preserve an important part of island history. By investing in the OBTC, you are investing in a legacy of community, continuity, and shared purpose, ensuring that the spirit of Oak Bluffs and Martha's Vineyard continues to thrive for generations to come.
